The same standard of work, without the clinical software

Chimera started in healthcare and most of our work is still healthcare. A network is a network, though, and what makes a practice run reliably comes down to habits more than anything clinical.

What we do outside healthcare

Managed support, networks and Wi-Fi, servers and workstations, structured cabling, phone systems, backup, and cybersecurity. The same list as everywhere else on this site, without the clinical software sitting in the middle of it.

Who tends to call us

Offices somewhere between a handful of people and a few dozen, and businesses where the work happens in a space that has to be wired properly. Manufacturing floors, warehouses, restaurants, law offices, and field service companies with a yard out back and an office out front.

What healthcare taught us that carries over

A practice cannot tolerate downtime while patients are in the building, so we learned to do disruptive work when the place is empty, and to document everything on the assumption that the next person to open that closet will be somebody else. Both habits are just as useful when the client is a machine shop.

The compliance side carries over too. Segmenting a network, controlling who can reach what, and being able to prove a backup restores are what the work looks like anywhere somebody is going to check it, healthcare or not.

Cabling and buildouts

A lot of businesses find us because they are building or moving into a space and want the low-voltage work done by a company that will still be there after the pull is finished, to turn the equipment on and keep it running.

Where we work

We are based in Katy and work with businesses across greater Houston and southeast Texas, from Sugar Land and Richmond to League City, Baytown, and The Woodlands.
